Real rib tattoos are agony. The needle hits the bone. You can’t breathe. You want the look without the tears. You are looking for rib temporary tattoos.
This is the most elegant, delicate placement on the body. You want a fake rib tattoo script? We have it. You want a side tattoo that accents your curves? We have those too.
We are Australia’s local experts. We ship from Brisbane. Express takes 1-4 days.
The Reality Check.
The ribs are a high-movement zone. You breathe. You twist. You bend. The skin is constantly stretching. Standard Ink: Can crack if the design is too solid/blocky. Semi-Permanent: Moves perfectly with the skin. Friction: High. Your arm rubs against your ribs when you walk. Your bra strap might rub. Expect 5-7 days of perfection, rather than the full 10.
Styles: Vertical & Floral
The ribs frame the body contour. The design needs to flow.
Vertical Script A quote running down the rib cage. Vertical script is timeless. It elongates the torso. Because it’s text, the “cracking” risk is lower (lots of gaps in the ink).
Rib Cage Floral Vines. Wildflowers. Rib cage tattoo floral designs wrap around the curve. They look soft. They look feminine. Perfect for swimwear.
Sticker vs. Semi-Permanent (Rib Edition)
Standard Ink (The Beach Choice) Pros: Instant. Good for a bikini photo. Cons: Bra friction peels it. Best for: A beach day or pool party.
Semi-Permanent (The Realistic Choice) Pros: Looks painfully real. No one will believe it’s fake. Cons: You have to keep your arm off it while it develops. Best for: Fooling your friends. Living the lifestyle for 2 weeks.
Placement Strategy: The Bra Line
The Enemy: The Underwire. If your bra band sits directly on the tattoo, the friction will kill it in 24 hours. The Fix:
Place the tattoo below the bra line.
Or go braless/wear a bikini top during the development phase.
The Arm Rub: Your inner arm rubs your ribs when you walk. The Fix: Place the tattoo slightly forward (towards the stomach) rather than directly under the armpit. This avoids the “armpit friction zone.”
Application: The Stretch
This is the hardest spot to apply alone. You need a mirror or a friend.
The Protocol:
Stand up.
Raise your arm (hand on head).
This stretches the skin over the ribs.
Apply the tattoo.
When you lower your arm, the skin relaxes, and the tattoo sits tight.
Note: If you apply while relaxed, the tattoo will stretch/crack when you raise your arm later. Always apply stretched.

FAQ: Rib Specifics
Q: Does it tickle? Yes. Removing it definitely tickles. Applying it with a wet sponge feels cold.
Q: Will it crack when I breathe? Standard: Maybe, if it’s a huge solid block. Stick to fine lines. Semi-Perm: No. It is a stain. It stretches with you.
Q: Can I sleep on my side? Standard: Yes. Semi-Perm: Be careful the first night. Wear a t-shirt so the ink doesn’t transfer to your arm or sheets while developing.

These temporary tattoos are so easy to apply. Literally just a quick wet cloth, and they’re on! Only downside is that a few designs didn’t transfer fully, but they were still cute.
